IOWA CITY – One day you are the starting quarterback for a team that has gone 9-0, the next day you are a consultant. Well, coach Kirk Ferentz used the word “tutor” when talking about Ricky Stanzi’s role on the team now that he is sidelined with a bum ankle that required surgery.
Stanzi, who will travel with the team to Ohio State, was in the film room Sunday night helping James Vandenberg and John Weinke break down film on the Buckeyes. Vandenberg says he plans to lean heavily on Ricky as he gets ready for the big challenge in Columbus.
